Anaicut MLA hails Yoga Camp of Peedam

Anaicut constituency MLA, Mr Kalaiarasu, visited the Yoga Camp of the Sri Danvantri Arogya Peedam, Walajapet, on Monday, May 6, 2013, and urged the school students participating in the camp to seize the opportunity and learn Yoga practices which will help them in all walks of life.

The Yoga Camp was launched on May 5 in the presence of Peedam founder, Kayilai Gnanaguru Dr Sri Muralidhara Swamigal, at the Peedam. The camp is an initiative of Sri Muralidhara Swamigal.

The MLA visited the Yoga Centre and had a look at the facilities provided free of cost to the students and lauded the efforts of the Peedam founder to propagate Yoga and to help young minds inculcate good habits while in school itself.

Mr Kalaiarasu also attended the Sri Mahalakshmi homam that is under way at the Peedam from May 1 and will continue for a total period of 48 days. He performed the poornahuthi. The Sri Mahalakshmi homam would be performed between 4.30 p.m. and 6 p.m. on all these days.

The MLA later went around the Peedam and prayed for world peace before all the 65 deities in the Peedam complex. While going around the Peedam, he saw for himself the discipline in the Peedam and also its cleanliness. He told Sri Muralidhara Swamigal that he was very much impressed with the atmosphere of piety and devotion at the Peedam and how it was maintained as a clean and efficient place despite large crowds coming every day.

The Peedam was a matter of great pride for the entire Vellore district, he said.

The free Yoga classes will be held at the Yoga Centre of the Sri Danvantri Arogya Peedam from May 5 to 10 for boys and from May 11 to 15 for girls, said the Swamigal.
