A joint prayer was held for the Uttarakhand flood victims at Sri Danvantri Arogya Peedam, Walajapet, on June 23, 2013.
Peedam founder Kayilai Gnanaguru Dr Sri Muralidhara Swamigal said the joint prayer by devotees and members of the Peedam and family members of the Peedam founder was aimed at praying for the welfare of the flood victims and for the souls of the deceased to rest in peace.
The Peedam founder also thanked Tamil Nadu Chief Minister
J Jayalalithaa for taking steps to bring some of the stranded devotees, belonging to Tamil Nadu, in Uttarakhand safely to the State and for undertaking relief efforts.
The gathering invoked the blessings of Moolavar Sri Danvantri and the other 64 deities at the Peedam.
The joint prayer was conducted during the special Sulini Durga homam held on June 23.
