Danvantri peedam conducts the Sri Sooktha Homa every month to invoke the blessings of Goddess Mahalakshmi. This has been put in place responding to persistent demand from devotees.

Since historic times, people have always reached to the doors of Mahalakshmi to seek her blessings. She is the goddess of whom we ask for happiness in family, fertility, friends, marriage, children, food and wealth, beauty and health. Maha Vishnu always  carries her in his chest not without reason! Without Her, there is no world Lakshmi pooja when performed by a devotee bestows prosperity and tremendous  positive energy and attracts fortune with wisdom for him/her.

The Hindu sacred texts, the Vedas call Mahalakshmi as Lakshyayidhi Lakshmihi which means she is the one who has the object and aim of uplifting mankind. and has been acquiring potency through  regular and repeated vedic rites.  prayed to by devotees with golden flowers as well. The Goddess seated on a lotus flower beckons devotees with kindness and blesses you even before you go to worship the presiding deities Lord Lakshmi Nrisimha, Lakshmi Hayagreeva and Sathya narayana Given that prosperity is what all of us seek, we need to worship her with all devotion we can command. The Sri Suktha Homa is prescribed in Rig Veda as the best means to worship her. And this Homa is conducted at the Sri Danvantri Arogya peedam every month for your benefit .. In this Homam, the Goddess Mahalakshmi is invoked though the Sacred Fire in the most rigorous ways mentioned in the Vedas and Agamas. Praying through the Sacred Fire in which the Goddess is invoked is an excellent form of worship. The scriptures say "Aarogyam Bhaskarat Itchath Sriyam Itchath Hutasanath" - One can achieve health by praying the Sun, and can achieve wealth by praying Goddess Maha Lakshmi through Sacred Fire.

So what happens exactly at the homam? The Goddess's blessing are invoked for you with a Sankalpa done on your name and birth star, at the start of the homam. The Homam bestows Health, Wealth and Prosperity on you and your family.Marriage, Jobs, Promotions, Business Success, Earning of bountiful wealth all happen through Her blessings.

There are fifteen mantras in the Sri Suktham. By performing homa several times with all the ingredients as prescribed in puranas, tantras and agamas, one can receive several benefits. The scriptures proclaim that One who performs Maha Lakshmi mantra japa for 120,000 times continuously for 12 days and performs homa on the last day, attains all siddhis. That is difficult to carry out in modern times, but certainly you can join in the Homa everymonth, which is even a more powerful and pragmatic way. To make it easy for you the temple has a scheme where you can join in the homa with an annual subscription as well.
