Vellore collector attends homams with 1 lakh Amla fruits

Walajapet: Vellore district collector R Nandagopal was among those who participated in conduct of homams with one lakh Amla fruits on the fourth day on October 26, 2014.

A large number of devotees from other States turned up at Sri Danvantri Arogya Peedam on the fourth day of the Mahalakshmi-Danvantri-Kanakadhara homam with one lakh Amla fruits on October 26, 2014, as part of the 55th Jayanthi celebrations of Peedam founder Kayilai Gnanaguru Dr Sri Muralidhara Swamigal.

The devotees participated in a joint prayer for world peace.

Later, the devotees took part in the annadhanam scheme.

Among those who participated in the special homam on October 25 were former MLA, Gnanasekharan, and members of his family, Thirumalacheri panchayat council president Thiru Dakshinamurthy and Peedam advocate Sankaran also.

They were received by Peedam founder Kayilai Gnanaguru Dr Sri Muralidhara Swamigal. They also received his blessings.

Later, the devotees took part in the annadhanam programme of the Peedam.

Thiru Balamuruganadimai and Thiru Sachidananda Swamigal were among those who took part in the programme on the second day of the four-day programme.

Industrialists -- Thiru Mahi of Walaja, Thiru A L Samy of Sholingur and Thiru Sathish of Janani Big Bazaar, Vellore -- were prominent among those who attended the programme besides Thiru R K Narasimhan and Thiru Seetharama Iyer, office-bearers and members of South Indian Brohithargal Sangam.    

Anaicut MLA Thiru Kalaiarasu, Sumaithangai Ezhumalai, block secretary of AIADMK Vellore unit, Walaja chairman W S Vedagiri, Ranipet chairman Santhosh Poongavanam and Sholingur chairman A L Vijayan, Dr Rangarajan and advocate Kannan from Chennai, were among those who graced the occasion.

108 kalasams and 10 Sivacharyas were engaged by the Peedam on the opening day. They conducted Vinayaga pooja and 'yaaga saalai pooja' to begin the four-day programme.  

The homam along with Lakshmi Pooja during Deepavali festival, was being organised by the Peedam from October 23 to 26 to also celebrate the 55th birthday of Peedam founder Kayilai Gnanaguru Dr Sri Muralidhara Swamigal.

The Mahalakshmi-Danvantri-Kanakadhara homam is being performed as three homam in one homa kundam for global welfare and to alleviate the suffering of the people.

Kanakadhara Homam and Lakshmi Pooja are done from centuries and considered to be potent even today.

A person who wants immediate relief from financial problem can perform this yaagam. This pooja has power to grant one with wealth, rich food, land, property and buildings, fame, longevity, high social status, vehicles, perfect spouse, children, state accolade, good health, joy, pleasures, trade success and total fulfillment.

Mahalakshmi homam (October 24 - Friday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m)

Those who participate in the Mahalakshmi homam at the Danvantri Peedam on October 24, will derive benefits like prosperity, peace of mind, and to overcome problems like debts, financial crisis and ill-health. Since Mahalakshmi is positioned in the Danvantri Peedam as Arogya Lakshmi, She would confer benefits like saving one from mental and physical illnesses, provide affection and peace of mind, says Peedam founder Kayilai Gnanaguru Dr Sri Muralidhara Swamigal.

Danvantri Homam (October 25, Saturday 10.30 a.m. to 1 p.m.)

Participation in the homam to priopitiate Sri Danvantri will help overcome illnesses like BP, headache, TB, pain, spondylitis, cough and so on, says Swamigal. Hundreds of herbs would be used in the homam which would in effect be a pain reliever.

Kanakadhara homam (October 26, Sunday 10.30 a.m. to 2 p.m.)

The Amla is an important fruit -- it provides longevity and evokes a feeling of spirituality in every mind. That is why the kanakadhaaraa slokam would be recited during October 23 to 26 for the sake of the devotees.

The Amla fruit can provide the people prosperity and a lot of good things, said Sri Muralidhara Swamigal. That is why, one lakh fruits would be used in the yaagam so as to benefot entire mankind,

he added. Swamigal urged devotees to turn up in large numbers and derive the benefits of the yaagam.
