Are you heavily in debt? Is your business failing? Are you facing a severe financial crisis? If yes, then Mahalakshmi can drive away all your problems. When Goddess Lakshmi is worshiped with true devotion, she banishes all traces of poverty from one's life and endows one with riches and splendor.

Lakshmi in her manifestation is Arogya Lakshmi (giver of health), Keerthi Lakshmi (bestower of name and fame), Santhana Lakshmi (blesses children and continuing progeny), Vijaya Lakshmi (ensures victory in all the efforts), Dhana Lakshmi (Showers continuing wealth), Dhanya Lakshmi (restores abundant crops), Moksha Lakshmi (grants liberation), Sowbhagya Lakshmi (unending harmony and auspiciousness), Santa Lakshmi (giving peace). Thus, she is apparently one in all the eight forms (Ashta Lakshmi) who also confers Ashta Siddhis, which are Anima, Mahima, Garima, Laghima, Prapti, Prakamya, Ishitva and Vashitva.

Kanakdhara Homam and Lakshmi Pooja is done from centuries and considered to be potent even today. A person who wants immediate relief from financial problem can perform this yagams. This pooja has power to grant one with wealth, rich food, land, property and buildings, fame, longevity, high social status, vehicles, perfect spouse, children, state accolade, good health, joy, pleasures, trade success and total fulfillment.

Origin of Kanak Dhara Stotram and homam.

Kanakdhara means “Torrential Rain of Gold from the sky”. The name itself justifies the legend that there was a rain of golden gooseberries when Sri Adi Sankaracharya recited slokas after seeing the plight of a Brahmin lady living in abject poverty.

The lady was upset, as she could only provide gooseberries as alms to Sri Adi Sankaracharya when he visited her house. Seeing her plight, Sri Adi Sankaracharya was moved and he recited slokas addressing goddess Lakshmi. It is believed that golden gooseberries fell when Sri Adi  Sankaracharya completed the 19th sloka. Thus, the stotra of Adi Sankaracharya towards Goddess Lakshmi was sacred, famous and powerful, known as Kanakdhara Stotram.

    Meaning of Lakshmi Mantra:
O all-knowing fire-god (Agni), would you kindly propitiate Mahalakshmi, the Goddess of prosperity, one whose body has the golden color; one who is decked with gold and silver garlands; one whose sari is yellow colored and one Whose face is like the full moon and whose eyes bless humanity with soothing grace. O Jata Veda, the fire-god, kindly tell Her of our supplications.
