A special Danvantri yaagam would be conducted at Ramana Maharishi old age home in Tiruvannamalai by Sri Danvantri Arogya Peedam, Walajapet, on July 30, 2014.
Peedam founder Kayilai Gnanaguru Dr Sri Muralidhara Swamigal told presspersons in Tiruvannamalai that the yaagam would be held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on July 30. Such yaagams were being held all over Tamil Nadu to benefit devotees. He urged the devotees of Tiruvannamalai also to avail various benefits by worshipping the Danvantri utsavar deity.
Sri Muralidhar Swamigal will commence the yaagam on July 30.
500 types of herbs and over 100 types of flowers and fruits would be offered during the yaagam.
Over 100 women would undertake vridham at Kamala Peedam in Tiruvannamalai for three days before bringing the homam material for the yaagam on July 30.
Kamala Peedam founder Seetha Srinivasan, Ramana Maharishi old age home founder Varalakshmi Mataji were also present at the press conference in Tiruvannamalai.
Sri Muralidhara Swamigal said Danvantri Peedam was established by him nearly 12 years ago in memory of his mother. In the course of these 12 years, over 10,000 homams had been performed at the Peedam, providing solace and relief to lakhs of devotees.
The Danvantri Peedam has 70 deities and 468 siddhar lingams at one place, an old age home and an ayurvedic dispensary. At least one homam was performed every day at the Danvantri Peedam, he pointed out.
