The valedictory function of
the free Yoga camp conducted by Sri Danvantri Arogya Peedam, Walajapet, was
held on May 15, 2013, with gaiety and enthusiasm. Inspector of Walajapet police
station, Mr. Kandeepan, handed over the certificates to the students, in the
presence of Peedam founder Kayilai Gnanaguru Dr Sri Muralidhara Swamigal.
The camp was held from May 5
to 15 for boys and girls, with the boarding and lodging, and equipment provided
free of cost by the Peedam.
Speaking on the occasion,
Walajapet Inspector, Mr Kandeepan, said, “The students of this camp have had a
wonderful opportunity to learn yoga that too from Yoga masters, free of cost in
such a wonderful ambience at the Peedam. We never got such an opportunity when
we were young. Only recently, we got a chance to learn yoga. You students
should make full use of the yoga training that you have received. When you go
home, you should practice yoga repeatedly and make yourself proficient in yoga
which will help you in your studies and in your career.
Yoga master S. Venkataraman
said, “It was remarkable that the students learnt everything well and never got
tired. I could see that at the Peedam they had the blessings of moolavar Sri
Danvantri and that is how they could perform well.”
A Plus 2 student, narrating
his experience at the Peedam, said, “I feel that my mind is now stable and that
I am finally in control of my mind. Yoga has helped me control both my body and
mind, keep them fit.”
A 50-year-old man, who also
attended the camp, broke down and said, “We were looked after so well by Sri
Muralidhara Swamigal and his aides. For ten days, we were given everything free
here. I cannot forget my experience here.”
72-year-old S Balakrishnan of
Nagalur in Villupuram district said he had come to the camp to accompany his
two sons who had registered for the yoga camp. “Before we came to the camp, my
mind was full of doubts about arrangements here and whether it would be worth
it since I had to be away from my work for over 10 days. But after we came
here, we were delighted to see the arrangements and hospitality. The
Peedam founder himself looked after us. It was as if we were at home.”
“I myself benefited from the
camp. I joined my kids in doing the yoga exercises and I found that the pain in
my knees was gone, and also my cold got cured. I was able to breathe better,”
said Balakrishnan.
Peedam founder Sri
Muralidhara Swamigal said, “It is a rare opportunity for you students to get
this certificate. For it was only here that both mother and children, father
and children participated in the same camp. The yoga exercises that you have
learnt will guide you throughout your life. Use thee yoga exercises to make
your life wonderful.”
The camp’s yoga co-ordinator
R Venkatraman thanked all concerned for the success of the camp. He told the
participants that they had not only learnt about yoga but also about yagam.
“This will help you improve the quality of life,” he added.
Among the chief guests for
the valedictory function were Programme Co-ordinator of World Peace Trust, Mr S
V Giri and Thiru Devaraj Swamigal.
At the end of the function,
