The idol of Sri Sathyanarayana will be installed at Sri Danvantri Arogya Peedam, Walajapet, on April 13, 2014. This will be the 70th deity at the Peedam, said Peedam founder Kayilai Gnanaguru Dr Sri Muralidhara Swamigal.
The idol is five-and-a-half-foot high, and has been made by sculptor, Sri Loganathan of Mamallapuram. The idol is a rare one. It shows Anjaneyar worshipping Surya Bhagwan. The idol was brought to the Peedam on March 20.
The installation would be done with the blessings of Sri Srinivasa Ramanujacharya Swami, Jeeyar Mathadipathi, Tirukoilur, between 9 and 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 13, Sri Muralidhara Swamigal said.
Sri Sathyanarayana viradha pooja and special homam would be performed at 5 p.m.
Special guests for the function would be Raghupathy family, Bengaluru, Thiru R Prakash, Industrialist, Tirukoilur and the family of Thiru Prasanna, Coimbatore.
As is customary at the Peedam, the idol would be taken round in 'karikol' journey to different parts of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka before it is brought back to the Peedam in Walajapet for the installation ceremony.
The IG of Registration department, Thiru Murugiah, IAS, performed the first arathi to launch the karikola journey of the idol on March 20, and thereafter received the blessings of Sri Muralidhara Swamigal.
Also present on the occasion were Thiru Rajasekharan, Flying Squad, Tahsildar, Thiru Palanivel, Manager, City Union Bank, Ranipet, Dr Rangarajan were present along with Sri Muralidhara Swamigal.
