Vallalar birth star
celebrations
On account of the avathara
(birth) day of Ramalinga Adigalar, known in religious circles as Vallalar for
his boundless love for all living and non-living beings, there would be special
abhishekam onMonday October 5th 2015, for the idol installed at the Danvantri
Arogya Peedam at Walajapet, near Vellore.
Purattasi Chithirai is the
day the earth was blessed with the birth of guru Vallalar. He lived a life of
piety and love and gave such soul-saving slogans
like ‘Jeevakarunyame Motcha Veettin Thiravukol’. His outpourings, rich in
literary and religious value, called ‘Thiruvarutpa’, are the essence of his
philosophy.
According to a note from
the Arogya peedam, the special abhishekam for Vallalar, which begins at 10
a.m., would be followed by guru homam. There would also be annadhanam at 1 p.m.
in memory of the saint who said he wilts every time he sees the wilting paddy
or a starving human being.
Says Muralidhara Swamigal,
the founder of the peedam, “All guru devatas like Shirdi Sai Baba, Vallalar,
Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Swamigal of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam, guru
Raghavendra, Medha Dakshinamurthy and Athiri Padham are installed under one
roof at our peedam. Those who participate in the Vallalar jayanti will get the
blessings of all the gurus.”
